Costa Rica Style: Travel Light

Monday, March 30, 2015

Trevor and I have been in Costa Rica for the past ten days! (For those of you who didn't know - surprise!) It was definitely a blast and I'll be writing a looooooong blog post about everything we did, but first I'm going to keep things simple with a fashion post.

I don't know about you guys, but I love jeans (this blog is a pretty strong testament to that!). I know everyone applauds leggings as the best thing to happen to travel fashion, but I prefer good ol' blue jeans any day.

The backyard of our first hotel in San Jose, Costa Rica

Satellite dish turned garden! So pretty!

I added a bright, kind of tropical top to get in the Costa Rican mood! I also brought this new backpack from Target, which I love. I used it every day of the trip!

So, my hair is a little crazy in these pictures. Anyone who tells you that short hair is easier to maintain is a liar. Short hair is honestly such a pain! I yearn for the days when a ponytail could solve all problems! This is what my hair looks like after ten hours of travel and 82% humidity. Also, you might notice the absence of my engagement ring. I decided it was better safe than sorry, and I left it at home for this trip. It was so weird not having it on every day! But when you see the activities we took part in on this trip, I think you'll understand!

The first thing I was struck by was how green everything was! Obviously, Florida has a pretty tropical climate, but Costa Rica is full of gorgeous flowers and trees. I loved the scenery behind our hotel. It was so perfect! The second thing I was struck by was how cold it was! (Okay, not cold exactly, but not the temps I was expecting. It got down below sixty after the sun went down - colder than Florida right now!). I definitely had to rethink my packing list, which I'll share in another coming post.

Until then, hope you like my simple travel style. More to come soon!
