12 South

This past week was so much fun! I loved getting to spend time with one of my best friends, Dixie, and exploring new places. I've visited her in Nashville before, twice. The first time, I helped her girlfriend propose! The second time, I went shopping for a wedding dress. Both trips were only a few days. This one was a whole week!

One of the things we both really wanted to do was go hiking, which was a ton of fun. Since Dixie technically lives outside Nashville, in a smaller town called Murfreesboro, we split our time between the two cities. We decided to explore a Nashville neighborhood called 12South, and ate at The Frothy Monkey. With a name like that, how could you pass it up?

I got a latte and eggs, and Dixie got an iced "white monkey" and an omelette. Even on a weekday, it was super busy, but the wait wasn't too long. I'm not sure if you'd be able to get a table on a Sunday morning though! (Btw, it's also apparently one of Taylor Swift's favorite places to eat in Nashville.) The Frothy Monkey also has a great selection of teas.

Just down the road is the iconic "I Believe in Nashville" mural and across the street is  the Draper James flagship store. (Here's a picture of Reese Witherspoon in front of the same sign - apparently we are just missing celebrities left and right!). The store opened this week, so I have another excuse to visit Dixie soon!

Our last stop at 12South was the pumpkin patch! Can you believe that Dixie has never carved a pumpkin?! She was so excited!

Once we finally named our pumpkin, we were very protective!

There is also a great selection of shops along 12th Avenue, but they are a little expensive (tee shirts starting at around $60 and up). It was still fun and definitely worth a trip.

Have you been to Nashville? What's your favorite place to visit? Let me know in the comments!
